Hours and tickets
Daily 9 AM to 5 PM. Tickets at the lower station, no advance booking required. Lines build between 10 AM and noon, especially on cruise days.
Combine with Fortaleza San Felipe
The standard half-day combo: 9 AM cable car (cool morning, clear skies), 10:30 AM descent, 11 AM at Fortaleza San Felipe, 12:30 PM lunch in the historic centre. Or the reverse: fortress first, cable car second to catch the afternoon light.
Frequently asked questions
Standalone cable car tickets run about 600 RD$ (USD 10-15) for adults, less for children and Dominican residents. Combo tours that include hotel pickup and the city tour start at $60.
The cable car ride is 8 minutes each way. Plan 1.5 to 2 hours total at the summit (gardens, statue, viewpoint, cafe). A combined Fortaleza + Mount Isabel tour is 5 hours door to door.
